Jo Nisa Cabilogan

Nisa is a first-year PhD student in the Developmental Psychology PhD program at UC Riverside. She earned her BA in Psychology, Minor in Public Health, and MA in Psychological Science from San Francisco State University. Nisa’s research interests include examining intersectional factors that influence the overall well-being of Asian Americans and immigrant communities. During her PhD studies, Nisa aims to gain the necessary skills to achieve her goal of becoming a Professor.
Kaylahnie Palencia

Kaylahnie is a first year doctoral student in the Developmental Psychology PhD program at the University of California, Riverside. She received her MA in Psychological Science from San Francisco State University, and her BA in Psychology with a double minor in Human Rights and Political Science from the University of California, Davis. Kaylahnie’s research interests include promoting positive civic and identity development in marginalized and oppressed youth, as well as informing positive prevention efforts for youth independent civic engagement. Overall, she hopes to support the advancement of equitable social justice and to combat systemic nihilism. Kaylahnie’s aspiration of acquiring her PhD is in alignment with her goal to pursue a professorship.
